Iran Accuses US of Strikes on Tanker, Qeshm Island Facilities via Regional Bases
In a statement published by the semi-official Fars News Agency, the ministry strongly condemned what it described as an “aggressive action by the terrorist US military” against both maritime and infrastructure targets.
The statement claimed the strikes occurred early Wednesday and were conducted “from two countries in the region,” which it identified as Kuwait and Bahrain.
Iran further alleged that the United States is using infrastructure and territory in regional states to conduct military operations against Iranian interests, and asserted that both Kuwait and Bahrain bear what it called “direct and clear responsibility” for the incidents, according to reports.
The claims come amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing exchanges of accusations between Tehran and Washington over military activity in and around the Strait of Hormuz, a strategically significant global shipping route.
