Iran Warns US Over Consequences of Israeli Truce Breaches in Lebanon

(MENAFN) According to reports, Iran’s Foreign Ministry has placed responsibility on the United States for any consequences arising from what it described as Israeli violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon, while also warning that Tehran would act to defend its interests “wherever necessary.”

In its statement, the ministry claimed that the April 8 ceasefire brought an end to what it characterized as a US- and Israeli-driven conflict affecting Iran across multiple fronts, including Lebanon.

It further alleged that since the agreement took effect, the United States has continued what it called “clear violations” of the ceasefire terms, including ongoing disruptions targeting Iranian commercial shipping activities.

The ministry also accused Israel of repeatedly breaching the ceasefire in Lebanon, arguing that such actions have undermined Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. It said the strikes had resulted in thousands of deaths and injuries, displaced approximately 2 million people, and caused widespread destruction to civilian infrastructure and housing.

Reinforcing its position, the statement added: “A violation of the ceasefire on any front constitutes a violation on all fronts.”
