Iran Rejects UAE Strike Allegations, Issues Warning Over Possible Attacks

(MENAFN) Iran has firmly denied any involvement in recent missile or drone attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates, according to Iranian state media reports.

A spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters stated that no such military operations had taken place in recent days. The official emphasized that any action of this nature would have been “clearly and officially announced.” The statement also dismissed the UAE Defense Ministry’s accusations, describing them as unfounded.

The same spokesperson issued a stern warning, saying that if any attack against Iran is launched from UAE territory, Tehran would respond with what he described as a “decisive and regret-inducing” retaliation. He also accused the UAE of allowing US and Israeli forces to operate from within its borders, urging Emirati authorities not to serve as a base for what he labeled hostile actors.

These remarks come amid rising tensions in the Gulf region, where reports have surfaced of continued strikes involving missiles, cruise missiles, and drones. UAE authorities have stated that their air defense systems intercepted multiple incoming attacks, which were reportedly launched from Iran. Earlier incidents were also said to have caused significant damage, including a fire at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone.

The situation has further escalated following military strikes carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran earlier in the year, which triggered Iranian retaliation and disrupted shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz.

A ceasefire was later introduced through mediation efforts, but negotiations did not result in a long-term agreement. The truce was subsequently extended without a defined end date. Meanwhile, additional maritime restrictions have been imposed on Iranian shipping activity in the region’s strategic waterways.
