US, France Discuss Global Conflicts Over Phone

(MENAFN) U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a telephone conversation on Monday with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot to deliberate on key regional affairs.

According to a statement by State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce, Rubio and Barrot "reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring Iran never develops or acquires a nuclear weapon."

The discussion emphasized their united stance on preventing Tehran from obtaining nuclear capabilities.

The two officials also shared perspectives regarding the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and deliberated on ongoing initiatives aimed at achieving a ceasefire in the blockaded region, Bruce noted.

In addition to Middle Eastern matters, the conversation extended to other international issues.

They addressed the necessity of ending the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, fostering a peaceful resolution between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and tackling the continued hostilities in Sudan, Bruce added.
